Northern
Lights Peruvian Club
By-Laws Purpose: The purpse of the Northern
Lights Peruvian Club is to assist its members in the enjoyment,
education, and promotion of the Peruvian Horse in Iowa, Minnesota,
North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri, Upper Michigan and Wisconsin. Membership: Membership in the Northern
Lights Peruvian Club is open to all people whether they own a
Peruvian Paso or not. It is a nondiscriminatory club; open to all
races, genders and creeds. Single or family memberships
are $35.00 for horse owners and $30.00 for aficionados. Membership
runs from January 1 to December 31 of each year. Dues for current
year must be paid by January 1. Renewal memberships not paid by
March 1 will result in loss of membership benefits. A Northern Lights Peruvian Club
member may be asked to withdraw their membership if they prove to be
financially irresponsible or deemed a threat in anyway to the club
or it's members. All five voted officers must agree to ask for the
members withdrawal. Events: Business Meeting A business
meeting will be held every year for the purpose of electing officers
and planning the years events. The offices are President, Vice
President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. These
offices will run from January 1 to December 31 (undetermined tenure
for all offices with annual voting on officers). Other necessary
committees and responsibilites will be assigned at the meeting.
Decisions will be made by a simple majority vote of attending club
members. Other
Events: The safety of all is the prime
importance at any Northern Lights Peruvian Club event. When horses
are involved common sense and courtesy should be used. Our goal is
to present our breed as willing, well mannered horses with
controlled energy and arrogance. Events are planned and sponsored as
club members determine at the annual meeting. Officer Duties President:
Puts agendas together for
meeting
Runs meetings
Oversees activites of
individual committees
In charge of seeing that
everyone does his/her part
Keep club fresh by asking for
input from club members and bringing up new ideas or ideas for
improvement
Writes a quarterly
"President's Letter" to be included in Newsletter talking about
current happenings in the club, events coming up, and new ideas*
Actively seeks out items for
newsletter and sends them to Newsletter person
Updates Website in
coordination with President Vice President:
Works with President in
obtaining input from members (through surveys and discussion)
Actively seeks out items for
newsletter and sends them to newsletter person (articles, ranch
write-ups, etc)*
Runs meeting if President is
absent 2nd Vice President:
Works with President in
obtaining input from members (through surveys and discussion)
Actively seeks out items for
newsletter and sends them to newsletter person (articles, ranch

Runs meeting if both the Vice

Keeps notes at meetings
